Dr. Arman Oshnoei

Title: Next-Generation Battery Management System for Sustainable Electrification
Arman Oshnoei received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, in 2021. From November 2020 to May 2021, he was a Visiting Ph.D. Scholar with the Department of Energy (AAU Energy), Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark. From August 2021 to March 2022, he was a Research Assistant with Aalborg University. From May 2022 to October 2023, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Aalborg University, where he is currently an Assistant Professor at AAU Energy.

He was also a Visiting Researcher with the Center for Ageing, Reliability and Lifetime Prediction of Electrochemical and Power Electronic Systems (CARL) at RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany. His research interests include energy storage systems for grid and e-mobility applications, battery management systems, and intelligent control strategies.

Dr. Oshnoei currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, Smart Grids and Sustainable Energy, and Circuit World journals, and is the Vice Leader of the EMI/EMC in Power Electronics research group at AAU Energy.

Dr. Abdulaziz Almalaq

Title: AI-Driven Energy Optimization for Smart Buildings and Future Cities
Dr. Abdulaziz Almalaq is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Hail University, Saudi Arabia. His research focuses on artificial intelligence for smart buildings, smart cities, and energy efficiency. He has published more than 40 scientific papers with over 1,400 citations and an H-index of 20 in the Google Scholar. Dr. Almalaq has received multiple innovation awards from HRH Abdulaziz bin Saad and from the NEOM AI Challenge in 2021 and 2023. He has also led major energy efficiency initiatives at Hail University, achieving a 27% reduction in energy consumption over three consecutive years. His work bridges AI, IoT, and sustainable energy systems to enable smarter and more efficient urban environments
Dr. Hanshen Li
North China Electric Power University, China
Title: Uncertainty Operation and Planning Method of Distribution Cyber-Physical System under Low-carbon Era
Hanshen Li received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an M.S. degree in Computer Science from Waseda University, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from North China Electric Power University. He is currently a Research Fellow at the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute and also serves as a Youth Growth Mentor for the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League. Prior to 2023, he held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Working Committee of Yongding Road Subdistrict. Prof. Li serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Energy Science and Technology and is a Young Editorial Board Member of EcoEnergy. He is a member of IEEE, IEEJ, CSEE, and CES. His research interests span power systems, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. To date, he has published over 30 papers, which have received more than 100 citations.
Dr. Mostafa S. Shadloo

Dr. Shadloo is a leading researcher in fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-physics systems, currently serving as Deputy Director of CORIA Lab./CNRS, and Full Professor at National Institute of Applied Sciences in Rouen, France. Recognized as a Fundamental Chair Laureate by the “Institut Universitaire de France”, his work focuses on turbulence control, electrohydrodynamics, and machine learning applications in fluid dynamics. With over 8,000 citations and an h-index of 55 (Google Scholar), he ranks among the top 20 mechanical and aerospace engineering scientists in France.

He earned his Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, Turkey, and completed his habilitation at the University of Rouen Normandie, France. His research spans both fundamental and applied fluid dynamics, including patented innovations such as an electrohydrodynamic system for liquid separation (French Patent FR2500330). He has led numerous international projects with budgets exceeding €3 million, collaborating with institutions like Stanford, Imperial College London, and University of Geneve.

A dedicated mentor, he has supervised over 60 trainees, including 12 PhD students, many of whom now hold prominent positions in academia and industry. His teaching contributions include designing courses in CFD, heat transfer, and turbulence at institutions worldwide. Honors such as the Humboldt Fellowship and inclusion in Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists underscore his impact.

Committed to knowledge dissemination, he serves on editorial boards for high-impact journals and organizes international conferences. He also has more than 120 ISI ranked publications in the prestigious journals in the field such as “Journal of Fluid Mechanics”, “Physics of Fluids” and “Physical Review Fluids”. His work bridges theoretical advances with industrial applications, addressing challenges in energy, environmental sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.
Dr. Yung-Cheol Byun
Jeju National University, South Korea
Title: A Hybrid Framework for Solar Panel Defect Detection: Integrating Diffusion-Based Image Augmentation with Feature-Level SMOTE
Dr. Yung-Cheol Byun is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Jeju National University, South Korea. His primary research interests encompass a broad range of topics, including AI and Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Energy AI for Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen, LLM-based Applications, Time Series Data Analysis and Prediction, and Intelligent Agents. He currently leads the Energy AI and Machine Learning Laboratory at the Department of Computer Engineering and has published over 250 SCIE papers.
From 2012 to 2014, Professor Byun conducted research as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Florida in the United States. He currently holds several key positions, including Director of the Institute of Information Science and Technology, President of the Jeju Industry-Academic Convergence District Project Group, President of the Venture Start-up Academy Project Group, and President of the Jeju RIS Intelligent Service Project Group. Previously, he served as the Director of the Advanced Science and Technology Research Center and as an Outside Director of Jeju Bank. He is also actively involved in various academic organizations in South Korea, such as the Korea Information Science Society and the Korean Institute of Information Technology.
In addition to his research, Professor Byun has hosted international conferences such as CNSI (Computer, Network, System and Industrial Engineering) and ICESI (Electric Vehicle, Smart Grid and Information Technology). Since 2017, he has organized a Machine Learning Camp in Jeju, inviting international researchers from around the world. He also runs global programs at Jeju National University, including the Asian University Students AI Camp, selecting students from across Asia.
Originally from Jeju, Professor Byun earned his Bachelor’s degree from Jeju National University in 1993, followed by his Master's (1995) and Doctoral (2001) degrees from Yonsei University. Before joining Jeju National University, he worked as a Special Instructor at Samsung Electronics in 2000 and 2001, and as a Senior Researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) from 2001 to 2003. He began his tenure at Jeju National University as an Assistant Professor in 2003, where he has remained to the present day.
Prof. M A Hannan
Sunway University, Malaysia
Title: Feasibility of future to100% renewable energy integration
M A Hannan is employed as Distinguished Professor & Professor of Intelligent Systems in Energy and Power Applications in the School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University, Malaysia. He is a Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) of the UN IPCC WG III, AR7 for Chapter 11. He is an Adjunct Professor at School of Electrical Engineering, Korea University, Korea and Visiting Professor at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. His research interest is on intelligent systems in energy and power applications related to renewables integration, energy storage system, hydrogen storage, smart grid, energy management system, building energy efficiency, battery controller and BEMS, HEV energy management system, inverter controller, MPPT, FACTS and custom power devices, power quality and intelligent embedded system development in academic and industrial (national and international) level of research and development. He is awarded as a Highly Cited Researcher (HCR) 2022 & 2023 in Engineering by Clarivate Analytics which is based on multiple top 1% citated papers in the Web of Science™ and truly 1 in 1,000 (0.01%) of the world’s scientists. He has obtained approximately AUD 8.2 M research funds, supervised 7 post-doctoral fellows, 25 PhD and 24 master by research students and his scholarly output in SCOPUS is 400+, citation is 25,000+, H-Index 74 and in Google Scholar, citation is 33,000+, H-Index: 87. His aspiration is to provide leadership of research governance, funding, high quality training and mission, aimed at embedding a strong culture of research integrity, excellence, and impact towards achieving the championship and global standing. He is leading academic and industrial research on national and international funding arrangement in both fundamental and applied research, directing pre-commercialized products, high quality research outputs and building collaborations. Also, transforming academic and industrial research technologies into teaching and learning process to ensure appropriate learning methods in higher education. He is a member of many professional organizations such as Senior Member, IEEE, IEB, IAENG, BCS etc. He is serving as editor-in-chief of Journal of Energy and Environment, associate editor in IEEE Access/IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications/Energy Conversion and Economics, served as program examiner, funding proposal evaluator, thesis examiner, editorial board members as well as in the committee of many Elsevier Science and IEEE Transactions. Prof. Mingchao Xia

Title: Synchronized phasor measurement based power control and dispatching of flexible traction system
Prof. Xia is a professor at Shenyang University of Technology. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1998 and in 2003, respectively. Prof. Xia Mainly engaged in research on transportation-energy integration, transportation electrification, energy internet, active distribution network, comprehensive energy system, electric vehicle charging optimization, etc. He is a pioneer in the research of transportation-energy integration and interactive scheduling of flexible loads such as electric vehicles. His research works have been supported by over 15 funding such as the National Key R&D Program China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China's "Key" projects and many companies, with total funding exceeds 10M RMB. He has published more than 100 technical papers, filed 15 national patents, co-authored 2 textbooks, edited 1 book and granted 2 software copyrights. He is a Fellow of the IET and a Senior Member of IEEE, and vice chair of the IEEE PES China Chapters Council Conference Committee.
